Xbox Live 1 VS 100: A Great Next Step in Social Gaming

1 vs 100
I found out about 1 vs 100 from a few friends who play X-Box live.
1 vs 100 is what is great about social games right now.
The premise for the game is simple. Either the one wins or the mob wins. You get a few help cards you can play but they are limited. Think Who wants to be a millionaire or Deal or No Deal. In doing some research this game seems like it was a real game show on NBC.
A few key elements:
- Host weekly LIVE events, with a live MC
- Play during off hours to increase your chances of being the one or in the mob
- The one and the mob win real prizes the top prize for the one is 10,000 xbox credits ($125)
- Play as the mob (100) the one (competitor) or the crowd (everyone else)
- During the live event when i looked at the stats it seemed like there were 40,000 people playing.
- Some type of user generated topics such as the theme of the questions.
- They are marketing using facebook and twitter.
During the show but especially during the breaks they have a video ad window. This has to be prime real estate for advertisers. In the short time i’ve been playing i think I have seen the latest Prious add 100 times. Microsoft has to be getting some great data during all this. Each game lasts 30mins an there are 37 questions. The questions range from pop culture to current events.
